The purpose of this research was to assess and assemble a profile of the XR industry in BC while collecting strategic data to help DigiBC facilitate the ongoing growth of this sector.

Beginning in July 2022, DigiBC, in partnership with Nordicity and supported by the Canada Media Fund, conducted a 3-month surveying of British Columbia’s Extended Reality (XR) companies. The purpose of this research was to assess and assemble a profile of the XR industry in BC while collecting strategic data to help DigiBC facilitate the ongoing growth of this sector. This resulted in the first comprehensive benchmarking of the XR sub-sector.

The report, Creative XR in British Columbia, leverages extensive surveying across the entirety of BC’s sub-sector and one-on-one interviews with industry key players. The report gives a robust analysis of the sector, including talent/skills needs and emerging market opportunities.
