Loc Dao (he/him)

Executive Director

Loc Dao is the Executive Director of DigiBC, responsible for setting and executing the organization’s overall strategy, liaising with government, academia, and member companies, and representing BC’s creative technology industry on the provincial, national, and global stage. Loc also leads the Canadian Interactive Alliance representing over 3000 companies working in Interactive Digital Media across Canada and serves as a director of Invest Vancouver and the Centre for Digital Media.

Before joining DigiBC, Loc co-founded the first public media digital studios at CBC and the National Film Board, facilitating new forms of storytelling including interactive documentary and immersive experiences that were recognized by academics, peers, and critics. Outside the office.

Loc dedicated 13 years to coaching the Vancouver Girls Hockey Association. He can still be found reenacting playoff-winning goals on the ice—just perhaps at a slightly lower speed.
