Mithila Karnik (she/her)

Work Placement Officer

As the Work Placement Administrator at DigiBC, Mithila Karnik-Adarkar liaises with studios, schools, and students across the creative tech industry to execute the successful delivery of the Work Placement Pilot Program. In addition to identifying work placement opportunities for the program’s four cohorts, Mithila is also actively engaged with program stakeholders and external advisers to support the development and delivery of a comprehensive cross-sector mentorship program.

Prior to joining DigiBC, Mithila worked in admissions at one of BC’s top-rated film and IDM-focused post-secondary institutions where she fostered strong relationships with alumni and new graduates, and gained a deep understanding of creative tech career pathways. Mithila is incredibly passionate about DEI, participating in the City of Port Coquitlam’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Roundtable Advisory and executing large-scale community events in the Tri Cities area, as well as co-founding a South Asian focused networking experience and delivering a well-received International Women’s Day initiative.

When she’s not helping students take their first steps toward a creative technology career, Mithila enjoys reading fiction (devouring over 50 books a year!) and is a passionate cook – especially when it comes to biryani and curry.
