Video Game Business Opportunity: MATCH European Co-production Program (apply by May 5)

A partnership between Creative BC and Canada Media Fund (CMF) designed to support the company success and growth of B.C.-based game studios.

Creative BC and Ontario Creates are offering support to B.C.- and Ontario-based video game companies to participate in MATCH, an international co-production matchmaking program organized by SpielFabrique. This year, studios will have the opportunity to participate with over 100 companies from Europe and South America.

MATCH is an annual initiative designed to connect video game studios from partner countries, focusing on three pillars: sharing co-production knowledge, facilitating studio partnerships, and supporting project development.

MATCH is open to existing video game studios in B.C. and Ontario that are:

Project Carriers/Majority Co-producers
• Studios looking for expertise/funding for their project(s)
• Must have a project pitch and prototype

Project Seekers/Minority Co-producers
• Must have expertise in-house that can be pitched to potential partners
• Medium-sized studios looking for project(s) to contribute towards as co-producers

May 14: Webinar – Structure for Co-production
June 11: Webinar – Finding a Match, Best Practices, Case Study

International Matchmaking
August 21: Gamescom, in-person (optional, travel costs apply)
September 8-12: Online

Companies that have found a co-production partner through the activities above will also have the option to participate in a Co-production Training & Pitch Session (in-person, travel costs apply).

Application Info & Process
Up to 15 companies from Ontario and B.C. will be selected to participate based on the strength and suitability of their projects/studios for the program.
