TAP Network Webinar: Workplace Inclusion for Canadian Newcomers (Oct 29, 12pm)

A special event in collaboration with TAP Network and the Immigrant Employment Council of British Columbia (IEC-BC) to discuss workplace inclusion of newcomers to Canada.

Date: October 29, 2024
Time: 12:00 – 1:30pm PT

With the federal government’s recent announcement to further restrict temporary foreign workers and wavering public support for immigration, it’s more important than ever that our workplaces welcome newcomers as they are a critical talent pool for Canada’s tech sector. International students are deeply invested in contributing to their Canadian communities and they bring unique skills and global perspectives which provide critical diversity of thought to our organizations.

During this Lunch & Learn, thought leaders and progressive employers in this space will provide valuable insights and best practices to ensure the inclusion of new immigrants in their workplace. UBC students and alumni will also have the opportunity to engage the panel in an interactive, moderated question and answer period where burning questions, tools and tips related to the current labour market, job search and networking will be discussed.

This event is an opportunity to connect meaningfully, foster a sense of mutual benefit and opportunities and uphold Canada’s spirit of innovation, collaboration and inclusivity. All are welcome.
