With a mission to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (“DEIB”) in the industry, this year’s GameChanger Scholarship is aimed at empowering outstanding women in art, design, or STEM fields who demonstrate a deep passion for gaming. Kabam believes that by supporting talented women, they can create a more inclusive and representative gaming community. The GameChanger Scholarship underscores Kabam’s commitment to creating opportunities for women in the industry.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Award Amount: $5,000 CAD
- Eligibility: Open to female students enrolled in engineering, design, or art programs, who have a strong passion for gaming in Canada
- Application Process: Applicants will need to fill out an online application form, which requires submitting a personal essay or if preferred, a video response to a question, providing their academic history, and including contact information for two academic or professional references
- Application Period: September 1st – October 15, 2024
- The winner will be announced in December
Each application will be evaluated by Kabam’s Scholarship Evaluation Panel, which consists of diverse and experienced professionals from various areas in the field of gaming. They will assess candidates based on academic performance, gaming involvement, achievements, personal essay, and contributions to DEIB. To ensure an unbiased evaluation, all applications will be anonymized, removing identifying information prior to the review.
