National Day for Truth and Reconciliation [Sept 30]

At DigiBC we are using this day to learn about and reflect upon Canada’s tragic and painful history, and the ongoing impacts of residential schools on Indigenous communities.

On September 30, we honour the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Like many of our member companies, at DigiBC we are using this day to learn about and reflect upon Canada’s tragic and painful history, and the ongoing impacts of residential schools on Indigenous communities.

We know a key part of reconciliation is education, so we were glad to see many of our members sign up to attend today’s informative online industry-focused learning event, Canadian History Through an Indigenous Lens, hosted by the First Nations Technology Council, Chastity Davis-Alphonse and Shelley Joseph. We have also compiled a list resources for learning and reflection, including IM4 Media Lab founder Loretta Todd’s film Monkey Beach which airs on September 30 on APTN.
